42, 120 and 153 ...

42 miles for the week (A six mile run every day): I haven't run these many miles in a week since mid-May.

120 miles for the month: I've run so much more in a month in the past. However, this year it's the 3rd highest mileage month for me... It's a start!

153 pounds: Down from 163. 13 more to go to hit my goal. Almost half way there... I need to keep doing what I'm doing...


I run the same route every day... By the Seattle waterfront, by Elliott Bay. It's amazing how different each run was this week...

Monday: I started running after class around 10:45pm. I was very disturbed mentally by events during the day. Ironically, it was very very windy, kind of mimicking the state of my mind...

Wednesday: Tired and drained after work and 3.5 hours of classes. I stopped a few times during my run. Staring at the ships in the water, the choppy waves, the Seattle skyline, the Space needle, an almost full moon playing hide and seek with the clouds... It was 12:30am by the time I got back home!

Friday: I had to literally drag myself out of the house... I tried convincing myself that I could take a day off.

Saturday: Raining! I was drenched by the time I got back. Once I was back home and dry it felt good to have run!

Sunday: A gorgeous fall day - sunny and crisp. I wore my Ragnar T. It has the caption - "RUNNER - Run, Eat, Sleep? Repeat" :) I passed a lady on my way out. On the way back there was a huge puddle with a very narrow path past it. She was on the other side and I was heading back. I would have reached the path first. All runners hate stopping during a run. I stopped and waited for her to pass. She made my day with her comment - "Thank you. You are a gentleman" ! :) As I passed the waterfront I saw my reflection on the restaurant windows - I liked my running form :)

Signs of progress

I was glancing through my running log for the past month... My run on 9/14 was at 10:15 pace. Today's run was at 8:05 pace... I feel fitter. My runs are getting easier and I'm enjoying them :) Visualizing running the Paris marathon is motivating!

Marathon de Paris


I decided that I need a suitable goal and motivation... So registered I am for "35ème édition du Marathon de Paris qui aura lieu le dimanche 10 avril 2011" !!!
